Abortion. I don't think I'm in a position to have much of a position on gay marriage and I'm still not sure what to think of it (people in homosexual partnerships should certainly have next of kin status and all that though).

True, but do you know why? Because it was legalised by the legislature, not the courts. Because it has a sane limit on it and wasn't a blanket legalisation. Because the absurd idea that women have a "right" to an abortion had nothing to do with it at all.
If abortion had been legalised in the same way as it was in the U.S, the issue would be about as important (especially in Lancashire).
