In all honesty how could anyone think that having sex is harmful?

How about rape victims?

Well, in that case it isn't sex itself that is a negative thing, it is the physical attack.  Sex in and of itself - certainly whenever entered into voluntarily - is likely to be an enjoyable thing, on balance.

You really don't have a clue, do you?

About what  you think about sex?  Hard to say.  Apparently you (and most prudes), think it is an unpleasant, shameful thing.

I think it's unpleasant and shameful when it is used to abuse someone else.

If you lived over here, I could get you arrested you know...

Do you mean to imply that certain opinions or speech can get one arrested in the UK?

Not as such.

Question: have you or have you not bragged about having anal sex with prostitutes?

It is still illegal for heterosexuals to have anal sex in the U.K (it's technically Gross Indecency) although I should add that I don't think anyone's been prosecuted cos of it for years.

And yes, prostitution is illegal. Well observed.

Interestingly, most niche sexual practices are illegal. And as R v Brown shows, the law don't *always* turn a blind eye...

What do you mean 'well observed'?  That the police try to prevent prostitution?

No, that it's against the law. Pimps get arrested quite a bit though... and put away for a loooooong time...

Maybe not. But it might be enough to get you arrested. And that would be fun enough.

That's awful.  It is tragic what sacrifices freedom fighters have to make in these dark days of social control.

Eh? These scumbags are abusing people and ruining there lives. They deserve to be locked away for ever IMO.

I'm not threatening you. But for you not living in the U.K, I would be. But you don't, so I'm not.

I don't. Why do you love opression so much?

I honestly doubt this law is still in force - I've never heard it or heard reference to it, though it is difficult to obtain access to some of the older statutes. If it is still on the statute books, we've probably not prosecuted since WW2.

I don't think anyone's been prosecuted under it for a very long time in England & Wales, but it's still technically against the law (mainly because no one can be bothered to change it and there's not likely to be a public outcry about it).

One of those weird little details that crop up every now and again.

The British government can do this, though I have no idea how much they enforce it.

Not a great deal IIRC... although some paedophile ex-pats in Thailand have been caught like that.

Does that mean they can arrest people who take weekend trips to the Netherlands and spend the whole weekend stoned?

No, because Cannabis was reclassified as a class "C" drug (which basically means it's illegal but not a police priority at all... although there's a chance it might get moved back to "B" soon) although drug dealers have been arrested in Amsterdam in the past.

Quite a long way to go to get high; tuther side of the Channel is France. Netherlands is on other side of the North Sea. And most of the ports on the North Sea have more than enough drugs to go round as it is...

I would seriously doubt that the government has legislated to extend it to drug taking.

People can be (and are) extridited though

Opebo: shut up. Some of the stuff you've posted on this thread recently is extremely disturbing... all your doing is digging yourself deeper and deeper into that hole of yours.

I am not acting outraged. I am outraged. There's a difference.
