Who knows who reads this place? Though as far as regular posters (including former ones) go the electoral record is hilariously bad. Other than muon, is there anyone else (including former posters) in office above mickey mouse level? A poster on the international board a few years back (merseysider) is now a councillor in Widnes, and that's all that comes to mind right now. But then I don't know much about most newer American posters.

Of course, relatively new poster doktorb was elected as a councillor in Preston due to freak circumstances earlier this year and resigned under surreal circumstances a couple of weeks later. Probably doesn't count.

MAS! Does MAS count?

He seems to be in a several-months-long battle for who, exactly, is 65th ward GOP leader (sorry, they call it "leader". I'd use chair, but whatever)

It just feels right, doesn't it? lol

Resigned as soon as he noticed that being on the council is work. I seem to recall there was also a girlfriend in the picture somehow.

The circumstances of his initial election were strange as well; the Electoral Commission (in their infinite stupidity) ruled that Labour/Co-op candidates couldn't have a picture of a rose next to their name on the ballot paper. In the ward in question two seats were up; one Labour candidate was Lab/Co-op the other wasn't. Result:

Labour 1,140
LDem (doktorb) 807
Labour (Lab/Co-op) 803
LDem 709
Con 466
Con 407

Subsequent by-election was Labour 890, LDem 388, Green 56.
