I think any true left winger should object against this, not the whole "brown bag" (who care one way or another), but the change from citizen to resident. To say people are citizens indicate that people are part of the community and have duties and rights derived from it, while if you say resident it indicate that people are not part of a community and do not derive any rights or duties from it. This is one more attempt by anti-communitarians to destroy solidarity and transform people from citizens to mindless consumers.
