Clearly, the biggest mistake the Bush Administration ever made was putting him in charge of Iraq.  Never realized it before- convinced of it now.

And who exactly are we to blame for choosing this guy?  It sounds like you are trying to blame the messenger. 

I don't think the arguement should be over whether Bremer was the right man, or whether he was dropped into an untenable situation with too few troops to cover everything.  Now that things are spiraling out of control and we have a big mess-o-potamia on our hands, we should focus on solutions, not the inevitable finger pointing and cowardly responsibility ducking that Bremer is engaging in.

The WSJ says noone heard him saying this stuff back when he had the chance.  He wasn't there making noise to get more troops when he had some authority, but maybe that wasn't his call.  That's what we pay generals for.
