wish it was Nevada but ok with Michigan too. Whitmer is gonna have an advantage in this scenario if she plans to run in 2028

This just replaces Iowa with Michigan, it does not yet establish an order.

Michigan just gets the early Midwest slot, order TBD.

Now we see how much the DNC is willing to sanction states that jump the line. I think Iowa Dems will swallow their pride and go later but New Hampshire definitely will move up as far as needed. Question is whether the DNC is as tough on them as they were on Florida/Michigan in 2008.

Wish Biden can stfu in this matter..based on reporting, it looks like he is the one who is mainly pushing for SC to be the first state in primaries

The President rightfully gets a major say in the next primary schedule, he owes South Carolina, Nevada and New Hampshire not so much.

South Carolina and Georgia aren't going to accommodate Democrats. This looks to me more like a gesture of good will towards Clyburn and black voters by Biden.
I think the final solution will be having Nevada and New Hampshire primaries taking place on the same day.

I think it may have changed to a state run primary last cycle but for years the South Carolina presidential primaries were party run, if they have to have a party run primary again in 2024 I'm sure they will. What the final lineup will end up being.

1) New Hampshire- They have the flexibility and the will to move up as far as they need to to be first. Big question is how severe the DNC sanctions will be.

2) South Carolina

3) Nevada

4) Georgia? I don't think this one is written in ink yet. I doubt GA Dems get any cooperation from GA Republicans. Possible party run primary but that is a question mark.

5) Michigan.

First the title of this thread needs to be changed.

Second has the MI Republican party decided for sure what they are going to do? They could hold a non compliant primary and lose half their delegates or they could have a party run firehouse primary at a later date.

https://www.ajc.com/politics/raffensperger-to-set-georgia-primary-for-mid-march/GSINMG2JQJGZTGDDJGVB2OSRNY/

Quote
Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced his decision Thursday to hold the presidential primary on March 12, a date he said will put Georgia “at the center of the national focus.”

Raffensperger has the power to set the primary date and it's no surprise he did not follow Democrats wishes.

So it looks like the Dem schedule will likely be:

NH (date TBD) - non compliant.
SC- Feb 5
NV- Feb 12
MI- Feb 26
Super Tuesday- Mar 5
