He would like to see individual retirement accounts for Social Security.  That is not abolishing Social Security.  Good Lord, he's even talking about FICA withholding for it!  

He has talked about people "demagogueing" the subject, and this thread is perfect example.

Really?  I'm demagogueing?  There is nothing that prevents people today from setting up individual retirement accounts.  The whole point of Social Security is that it sets up a floor to protect people.

I just gave you facts and links.  Which is far better than most people on here will do.  It is more than the Romney/Ryan camp will provide regarding their economic plan.

Let me ask one important question.  If what Ryan proposes existed when Paul Ryan was collecting death benefits from his father’s death his college fund most likely would have been wiped out on Oct 19, 1987 (~3 months before he would no longer be eligible for them).  I wonder who would be Romney’s running mate then.
