Why do you ask if you know the answer? 0%

This isn't 1980, the blue/red states division is by far more significant.

The chances of Romney winning 300+ electoral votes is far from zero.

But sir, that's not a landslide. Oh, well, you said it.

At this point likely. I see Romney reaching well over 300+

Congratulations.

I think that landslide starts from 359 votes.

Why?

Nothing has a 0% chance in politics.

A Republican landslide is far from likely at this point, but it's certainly a possibility if the economy doesn't improve -- or worsens.

Everyone here is overestimating the correlation economics -> political choices.

Quantitativism in political science...meh.

Can we at least get a big LOL at the Republicans cheering, almost salivating, over potential economic catastrophe? What a bunch of assholes! And you call yourselves patriots?

That's the saddest part. In the economics forum was something orgasmic, like "recession! yes! yes!" I was shocked.

Whats really sad is that another downturn will hurt parts of the Republicans' base the worst: poor, uneducated white voters. And the Republican solutions aren't going to do anything to help them either.

If you invert the colors, that red/blue map is actually the perfect illustration of what the electoral map should look like in every election if people actually voted in their economic interests. Rich folks in CA and the northeast would vote Republican, whereas as everyone else would vote for the Democrats.

Sadly, the modern Republican party has managed to use social issues as a tool to get low-information Americans to vote against their economic interests. I thought 2008 was at least going to mark a shift away from the 1968 re-alignment election, but it seems like we are reverting to business as usual for 2012.

They will be poor but they will find Jesus and happiness.

ok i will bet you $10 grand that romney will be the nominee. want to exchange emails??

Well, I doubt you have $10 grand to play around with. But I'm curious as to why you think he's such a lock on the nomination?

Probably he is a volunteer for Romney campaign.

Kind of sad.
