Looking at PEI, it's unlikely we will have no change again, as the current map splits the municipality of North Shore between Cardigan and Malpeque. It wasn't a problem before the merger of Grand Tracadie (in Cardigan) and Pleasant Grove (in Malpeque) into North Shore (also in Malpeque).

Thanks for the heads up.  I've made a few edits to PEI and also to New Brunswick (Tracadie has expanded across the old county line).

I still need someone from the Saint John area to tell me if my three alternative ridings are a good idea.  I'll even settle for someone from Fredericton Smiley

I still need someone from the Saint John area to tell me if my three alternative ridings are a good idea.  I'll even settle for someone from Fredericton Smiley

Both proposals for the SJ area look fine to me...the big qualm I have is with Moncton. I'd lop off (mostly Francophone) Dieppe and give it to Beausejour, and keep Riverview with Moncton.

Which is likely, like last time when it was proposed to raise the extremely vocal ire of Francophone organisations saying that Francophones are being packed in Beauséjour and that is an attempt to transform the bilingual riding of Moncton into an Anglophone one.

Here are the Mother Tongue figures (2016 Census, single responses) for the ten existing New Brunswick ridings and my proposed ridings.

By moving Riverview to Fundy--Royal and uniting Dieppe within Moncton--Dieppe, the net effect is to turn Moncton from a 2-1 anglophone seat to a 50-50 bilingual riding.

I tried to incorporate the proposed new NB municipal boundaries into the Level 2 boundaries, btw...

I tried to update my New Brunswick ridings last night.  It was so frustrating that I almost changed the name to Canada332!

Where did you find the shapefiles of the new local entities?  This site (http://www.snb.ca/geonb1/e/DC/catalogue-E.asp) seems to have everything but the boundaries that I was looking for.

You know, I think the area south of Fish Creek is about the size of one riding. Wouldn't it make sense to make that area one riding, since Fish Creek makes for such a natural border?

Here is the Hatman Variation.

This is my favourite of your Calgary maps so far. I might suggest trading Inglewood and Ramsay from Calgary Glenmore to Calgary Centre in exchange for Bankview, just because Bankview is better connected to the rest of Calgary Glenmore while Inglewood/Ramsay are separated from the rest of Calgary Glenmore by a large industrial area. But that's more of a minor note.

Here is a version that incorporates your suggestions and adds a Varsity for Renfrew neighbourhood swap that keeps Varsity in the same riding as the University of Calgary.  Please let me know if this is an improvement.

I've updated my map with new alternatives in the Belleville and Ajax areas.

I've also added a 78-seat map of Quebec.  All ridings are within 10% of the provincial average with four exceptions:
- Terrebonne's population is 46 above the 10% threshold
- Abitibi--Baie-James--Nunavik--Eeyou, Gaspésie--Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, and Manicouagan are all between 18%-19% below the provincial quotient

Please let me know what you think.

Now with new alternatives in Lévis (thanks Philly D!) and Halton Region.

I say wanted, because I found another way to relieve pressure on Ottawa (and left Ottawa South intact.)

Try https://censusmapper.ca/

You can create you own thematic maps of Calgary (or any other place in Canada) using 2016 Census data.

"Papineau" would make a great name for that orange riding, but of course that is taken. Apparently that area is also called La Petite Nation as a touristy name (which exists in the current riding's name as well), which would work. Just picking three random places in the riding to name it isn't going to work.

Do the residents of La Petite Nation ever fight the residents of La Petite-Patrie in Montreal to see who is 'Petite-ier'?

La Petite Nation isn't a touristy name, it's the name of the valley (and river) in that area and the name of the old seigneurie (founded by Champlain himself). It's the name Champlain gave to the local Algonquin tribe (until they were extermined by the Iroquois a few decades later).

La-Petite-Patrie is named after an early 70's novel in which the author describe his childhood in the area. It was usually considered a part of Villeray then, even if it was quite different (or like everywhere in Montreal, by using the name of the local parishes, in that case Sainte-Cécile and Saint-Édouard; the later also being a current municipal ward).

If Montreal ridings are being named after 70s novels, what about Outremont--Duddy-Kravitz?

I have completely revised my BC map.  MPs who enjoy crossing rivers (or inlets or false creeks) will be very disappointed.

My 43rd riding is qathat--Sea-to-Sky Country--Fraser Canyon--Nicola--Similkameen.  I've dropped a few names for the map.
