lol @ snowstalker in this thread

Laughing at the USA while supporting literally the worst team at the World Cup.

Great game by the USA, probably their best performance ever in a World Cup. Really dominated Portugal for much of the game. But Portugal is a team with quality, and they'll pounce when you make mistakes, like Cameron and Bradley did in this game. But Germany and USA will be bros and draw the last game and everything will work out.

A reprise of the 1982 Non-Aggression pact of Gijón?

yes, let's hope so

Sickening.

I had hoped to see Portugal play somewhat poorly, but not this poorly. The US will be in for a shock when they play Germany. I mean, it's not "serious" person considering it's just sport, but coverage of this here is horridly biased. A lot of people sincerely believe that since they beat Ghana, and Ghana was able to draw Germany, that means the US team is skilled enough to defeat Germany. The US had no business winning that first game- it's apparent when you look at the stats that Ghana dominated. A lot of people are overestimating the quality of the American team. And I'm not saying this just because I need Germany to give the US a drubbing.

Collusion will not help the sport in the US. Of course, I have a feeling Americans would react differently that the German and Austrian people did to the match back in 1982, so I could be wrong.

I've got the feeling we're either going to destroy the US tomorrow...or lose.

Please destroy them. Smiley

I'll concede that the US has genuinely impressed in this group stage and deserves to go forward (though Ghana arguably does just as much). Deserving means little in football though. I have nothing but respect for the USMNT--my rooting against them was me wanting to see the fair-weather fans who only watch during the World Cup and only when the US plays to feel some pain.

Hope that Algeria can pull out of the group stage (and beat Germany as sweet revenge for 1982 Tongue).

No, we don't. The team is full of selfish egotists- I am just realising this, like everyone else- and a team like that doesn't deserve to go anywhere. Here's the genius who scored the own goal kissing his freshly flown in money:

I'm told a lot of them don't have bank accounts in Ghana, which meant they couldn't wire it to them, or something like that.

Rodriguez a dark horse for Golden Boot?

At five goals I don't think he's a dark horse anymore.

Talking of dark horses though, Colombia to win the cup- you heard it here first.

Phil's been saying that for days. Perhaps it's not so out of left field.

If Algeria do the impossible, do you realize when they'll face France?

ALLONS ENFANTS DE LA PATRIE LE JOUR DE GLOIRE EST ARRIVE... wait, doesn't the World Cup end on the 13th?

Current prediction with pretty colors, and based on my view that Belgium/Uruguay/Colombia are overhyped. On the verge of swapping Portugal for USA. Also lol @ the Dutch getting to the finals.

Also, Costa Rica will be my ironic team due entirely to having the worst possible group.

Lol
