I'm not a fan of his politics by any standard, (indeed, had I been sufficiently politically conscious in 2002 I would have supported the coup attempt) but he's a good Catholic and I wish him good health.

the surgery didn't go perfectly, Chavez suffered internal bleeding after the surgery.

hahaha did you seriously just compare a Cuban news agency to Democracy Now (probably trying to imply all democrats are evil Stalinist commies)? really?

edit: On the plus side, if Chavez kicks the bucket, the reaction from Mathaba (some of you probably know it; for those that don't, it's basically a hardline pro-Gaddafi/anti-West news agency which has recently taken a turn towards Bolivarianism) will be absolutely hilarious. I wonder if it'll be on par with this...

I'd say saying that all Democrats are aligned with Democracy Now's politics is far more inane than comparing Democracy Now with Cuban State News.

But that wasn't what I was saying at all. I was saying Tweed's people (the Cubans) were spewing a different story than he and I was challenging him to address the contradiction.

And of course I did not mean to imply that Tweed was a communist. That's a given.
