If Democrats and the Rainbowpeeps of Florida really joined forces, they could launch a massive ad campaign in the state to focus on several Republican legislators that voted for this bigoted, bigoted bill - one of the most disgraceful bills in a swing state.  They should hang their heads in shame for this monstrosity...

Sue the state into oblivion if this becomes law.  I could see this becoming a nationalized law very quickly.

Also, I think everyone in Florida should be emboldened by this to scream the word "Gay"... Students should protest throughout the state... and parents should be calling up their state representatives every day until this is repealed or overturned by the courts.

It's honestly annoying seeing you lefties pretend you have the moral high ground and everyone against you is crazy, insane, phobic, racist, or w.e. your college humanities course lectured you on for 2 grand that semester. Like seriously, who gave you guys this kind of superiority complex? White privilege?

It's honestly annoying when you righties pretend that you're fighting for moral values in America and all of us are sinners.  You are a bunch of pious jerks, you really are.  You are hypocrites.  The Conservatives have no moral high ground - and no patriotic high ground either.  The stench of your hatred can be smelt all over this nation by all of us in this community.

says he supports a bill forcing teachers to out gay and trans kids to their parents

"Why do the libtards keep calling me a bigot???"

This isn't the slam dunk you think it is.

I didn't call you a sinner.
I apologize for my recent post attacking you.  It went too far.  I don't think anger is the right way to go about arguing in favor of queer kids in Florida - it's human nature to get angry, but I've become quite enraged lately at the recent attacks on the kids not just in Florida but all across our nation... It's one thing to attack gay adults, but it becomes so much more horrible when it's the kids, and there are so many gay kids in elementary schools all over Florida (and also straight kids being raised by gay couples) that this law is so insidious
but attacking you isn't going to make these kids more accepted at school

Is anyone else baffled as to why Florida, a swing state with a lot of people and a lot of gays too, is doing this?  There were several Republican state representatives that voted against this, and I tried to track down where they were from, but it seems a few Republicans from South Florida voted No on Don't Say Gay.

It just seems odd that Florida would do this before a lot of other states - is there something about Florida's Republican Party that makes it more antigay than other state parties?

The gay movement should be led by the gay kids of today - this is what happens to many movements, the youth assume the leadership roles.  What a proud day for all of us in the Rainbow community to see these kids have the kind of courage we only wish we could have had when we were young too.

All gay men were once gay boys - yes, even in elementary school - and gay boys should be fully free to talk about their crushes (even if it's on Jonny Quest) without being told they have to be silenced.

This bill is Statist Garbage.  From a conservative viewpoint, it's downright Commie.  Censorship is out of control.  FREEDOM OF SPEECH is the American way.

I pray this one bill destroys Ron DeSantis in the suburbs if he ever runs for President.  This should be made to define him - let's make him synonymous with "Don't Say Gay" a la Rick Santorum.  "Don't Say Gay DeSantis" needs to stick like glue.

I agree with this law. We shouldn't be talking about relationships period with k-3. Actually I don't think we need to talk about relationships until high school. I'm no fan of DeSantis but I'm all for this bill.

Can we ban every single heterosexual fairy tale from being read aloud in the classroom?  Why do we promote heterosexuality in our Kindergarten classes?  Isn't that grooming our kids to be heterosexuals?

This law is a direct attack on the LGBTQ rights movement, and it's purely political.  The animus behind this bill is disgusting and makes it clear that it originates from the ugliest homophobic lies.

I pray the lawsuits are writing themselves as we speak.

Amazing to see this issue of gay kids rally the kids, but really it's quite ridiculous when you think about all the issues this country is going through.

This was done deliberately by Ron DeSantis and the most antigay Republicans in the FL legislature as cultural red meat.  Even a Republican state senator told the press this week that this is purely political.

There is no crisis in Florida or any other state of parents not having rights.  There IS a crisis in Florida and other states of Conservatives attacking parents of gay kids.

The Conservatives are determined to die on this hill when it comes to all of this - LGBTQ whatever you call it - it's become a religion for them to hate gays, trans... just like their religion has become more a political ideology.
