New Governor NVGonzalez addresses the Pacific Council in his first state of the Region

First of all I am very happy for all of you to be sworn in. I want to congratulate you all on your elections and I look forward to working with you Smiley

Now while the Pacific has been making progress we still have a long way to go. We still have the highest unemployment rate in Atlasia and we face some dire prospects again if we don't do much in this session. For this reason my first act as Governor will be to propose a budget to get our fiscal state in sound condition then I plan to have measures to boost our economy. I want to hear your input and have everyone involved in this session which is why I sent you all a message asking what you want to see in our budget and what 3 issues you would love to see us tackle this next session.

With all that being said before we can do anything we must first elect our Speaker for the next session so Councillors please pick your speaker. I recommend Superique to lead our next session as he has been a crucial part to our progress and in our efforts to make this region active again

We need this, it will add so much to our economy.

Well... you could end up have this put into consideration but before any legislation can be proposed we need a speaker first.

Yes I think we got a basic majority.

With 3 votes for Superique he has been elected Speaker! We can finally resume business as usual.

The state may use a little revenue and I want to help establish an efficient budget so...

I think we should have a flat GST rather than target specific undesirables.

I'm open to a GST. though of course I wanted to kill two birds with one stone with the Recreational Tax decriminalizing pot and gaining revenue from it. I can combine them both bills though considering our recovery state we should be careful how we propose it.

I understand that right now I am subject to a recall. Even if recalled I will protect the Pacific to make sure this does not happen again.
