With the swearing in of Senator DemRepDan (IP-IL) AFIP now has a 1 senator minority rule of the Senate. Is the AFIP the new way? Nobody knows, nobody knows.
Well, the first thing to be mindful of is your use of the word majority. No party holds six seats in the senate. Therefore, no party holds a majority.
Second, the AFIP's support doesn't extend much beyond those members of congress. If the party's membership were swelling in addition to those senate seats, there might be a reason to think that the AFIP were gaining ground. But I don't think there has been a single senator who's been elected
as a member of the AFIP.
