What do you think is McCarthy's definition of "carrying out the (GOP) message"?
Hmmmm.

"Trump is God."

Bingo. Technically, he is right - the Republican Party is a death cult, and Donald Trump is their messiah. Lest anyone make Rep. Cheney's mistake of thinking otherwise, here's their "platform":

It's a hollow shell of an institution, just as all too many of its members are hollow shells of human beings. I was hopeful for America's future with President Biden's leadership, and he has spent his first hundred days doing a good, arguably an exceptional, job. But the GOP has made it clear that they are choosing to remain on a path to destruction: ours, America's, and their own.

Republicans, as a party, have not been interested in compromise for years, even before Donald Trump; they have abandoned politics and even the pretense of democracy. Biden's term can serve as a respite for America, but without a wholesale reversion to non-deathcultism by the GOP - something which shows no signs of happening -  we seem headed for an ugly, painful future for the United States and all its inhabitants.

This isn't about Trump; if it was, Cheney would have been out shortly out after being one of only ten Republicans to vote in support of his second impeachment.  The issue with Cheney is that she has nicer things to say about Biden and the Democrats than she does her own party.  You can believe her criticisms are valid, but the GOP cannot deliver a unified opposition message as long as Cheney is throwing bombs from the inside.  Forcing her out is the only logical conclusion to what she has brought upon herself.

"nicer things to say about Biden"

I.e.: "Biden is actually President"

"throwing bombs from the inside"

I.e. "the election wasn't rigged" and "anyone claiming it was rigged is lying".

Disingenuous re-framing doesn't make the GQP sane.

This makes Trump look far better than he actually is, but it is rather revealing that the liberal mind's worst composite nightmare of a politician is a socialist who casts out neocon war criminals.

I give up.  I've read that sentence three times and I still can't parse the last part.

I'll attempt to translate:

A great deal of this "the GOP is in disarray!!1!" narrative is manufactured by the mainstream media (and that includes Fox).  95% of GOP voters wouldn't care about Liz Cheney if she was a more reliable team player for her party which, to his credit, Mitt Romney has improved in this area as of late.
What has she done other than refused to bow to the GOP's new fake-gold idol?

That's the Republican Party in a nutshell. "Some people screamed louder than others," and a refusal to actually count votes.

"You can't run a railroad where the person driving a locomotive hates the president of the railroad," said Mark Amodei (R-NV), describing every railroad company in history.

I must have missed the memo where the GOP listed Donald Trump's official position. Is the GOP a blog or golf club?

Of course, we all know what he actually meant was "you can't be in the cult if you point out the cult leader is a lying crook".
