Folks, Trump's enemies are apparently conspiring to sabotage the President's enormous TV ratings:

Also, please call me when the Invisible Enemy offers his unconditional surrender (including the payment of reparations of course):

Is he Donald Trump or Baghdad Bob?

For one day, the WaPo should attribute everything to "many people say", while the Times should explain how their sources came to them and said, "Sir, I just have to tell you..."

Ummm...

This has gone beyond politics. America's supposed leaders have either enabled him or stood by and hoped the election in November will allow for a return to the "normalcy" that gave us Mr. Trump in the first place. These choices will prove fatal to our Republic, either because the slow coup of Mr. Trump and his Banana Republicans will succeed, or because it will require a civil war to stop.

I very much hope I'm wrong, and the election of Joe Biden (or some other Democratic nominee) does put us on a trajectory back to normalcy. But I don't hold out any hope for that outcome.

A crazy man who knows he's been beaten, clawing the air and raving at his opponent as she walks away, because the one thing he can't stand is being ignored. Pathetic, even for Donald Trump.

Iran has flying boats?

His administration officials don't want any competition at harassing the United States Navy.

DISCLAIMER: The following is about a tweet by infamous madman Donald Trump. It is an appropriate and amusing matter for this thread on this political forum.  However, I think it's important to recognize that the true purpose of items like this may be to get the general public arguing about who said what when, rather than the reality that Donald Trump is an extremely dangerous person and is grossly unfit for the office Republicans and their Russian friends have stuffed him into.

That said, we are all in need of levity in these dark times, so without further ado, let us all point and laugh at the stupid, stupid traitor.

From whitehouse.gov, Remarks by President Trump, Vice President Pence, and Members of the Coronavirus Task Force in Press Briefing,   Issued on: April 23, 2020

Quote
THE RESIDENT: I would like you to speak to the medical doctors to see if there’s any way that you can apply light and heat to cure.  You know — but if you could.  And maybe you can, maybe you can’t.  Again, I say, maybe you can, maybe you can’t.  I’m not a doctor.  But I’m like a person that has a good you know what.

Q    But, sir, you’re the President.

THE RESIDENT:  Deborah, have you ever heard of that?  The heat and the light, relative to certain viruses, yes, but relative to this virus?

DR. BIRX:  Not as a treatment.  I mean, certainly fever —

THE PRESIDENT:  Yeah.

DR. BIRX:  — is a good thing.  When you have a fever, it helps your body respond.  But not as — I’ve not seen heat or (inaudible).

THE PRESIDENT:  I think it’s a great thing to look at.  I mean, you know.  Okay?

And in case you don't believe an official trancript from the Trump White House (and there's no reason why you should), here's the video

He has now deleted the three tweets in which he had urged the "Noble Committee" to rescind journalists' non-existing "Noble Prizes".

(Question: Does anyone know if Trump tends to consume lots of alcohol?)

Once again, he was just being sarcastic!

It's imperative that the President of the United States, in a time of crisis, should be able to joke around and not be taken seriously. That's exactly what was intended when this nation was conceived.

I humbly propose that we should all - from posters on this forum, to Cabinet members - stop taking Mr. Trump seriously.

War with Iran? He's just joking. The military should ignore him.
Fired officials? What a kidder. They should just keep doing their jobs.
Executive orders? Such amazing sarcasm! He doesn't mean a word of it.
Everyone except comedy shows can stop covering him completely.

Just imagine the huge surplus in the national what-he-really-meant reserve!

Anyone know what the context for this is? The tweet immediately prior to this is about golf courses. It's really bizarre.

No idea. Maybe try asking a mentally ill seventy-three year old drug addict with dementia? They should be able to put it into context.

Yup, Lincoln was a winner because he didn't lose to "O"!

Mr. Trump is giving the Lincoln Project the same kind of free publicity he used.

Aaandd... he just let them know that not only did they put together a very effective ad, they got under his skin, too.

The word is shameless. The coward Donald Trump is shameless. He is incapable of honesty.

And the idea that he "loves America" is nonsense.  He loves playing the President of the United States in front of the cameras, and he loves getting attention, and he loves abusing power and authority for the benefit of his own diseased ego. He "loves" America the same way a sexual predator at a strip club "loves" women.

50+ crap tweets today. Here is a sampling.

(cut tweets for space)

Also some pretty horrid retweets about the appearances of some Democratic female politicians that I'm not going to repost.

That Mr. Trump can descend to levels of vile this low is not exactly surprising. That the Republicans excuse, defend and even encourage such behavior.... well, it tell us a lot about them, none of it good.

Someone should tell this Donald Trump guy who the Commander-in-Chief is, so he can talk to him about this whole "bring home the troops" thing.
