I'll admit that I saw how one organization (VICE or something of the sort) ran some stupid article on how you can eat yogurt made with bacteria from your vagina, and the frequency with which I see articles of that sort of idiotic nature make me think that if they aren't reporting fake news, they're at least trying to distract from things that don't fit their narrative.

Well, thank you for that little tidbit.

I'm serious though. So many news organizations are running moronic articles constantly, that seem to be appealing only to young women who are radical leftist/feminist, but the real intention being to get everyone to focus on fighting over that than anything that the news organization wouldn't want people seeing because it reflects badly on their worldview.

Careful, Goose - you're getting awfully close to agreeing with Chomsky here:

And I think they take away your Republican card in a special secret ceremony if you're caught publicly agreeing with Chomsky.

To be fair, Chomsky also seems to think that Russiagate is a distraction from the mortal wounds that the GOP (with Dem collusion) are inflicting on American society. (Presumably so their corporate owners can Frankenstein it into a much different dystopia.)

Most Americans in both political parties agree with Trump's basic premise -how long before they acquiesce in having him destroy our free press once and for all like Putin and Erdogan have done with theirs already?

Poll: 77 percent say major news outlets report 'fake news'

Having gone and read through the questions, that part of the poll is conflating those who think Fox News is a load bunk with those who think CNN and MSNBC are part of a Deep State conspiracy to destroy their Lord and Savior Donald Judas Trump (R-Moscow).  Combined, those numbers probably do add up to about three quarters of the public. My spin on the numbers would be that about 47% of the public basically trust mainstream media (with the exception of Fox), while another 30% trust only Fox among 'major' news sources.

If Trump calls CNN or MSNBC fake news he is a point. However when he goes after AP or BBC, then he is grasping at straws really, because these media are the opposite of fake news. So far he has reserved this label to CNN and MSNBC.

I think there is a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to modern day mainstream journalism. I mean, you have a pornstar and a gay man on 60 Minutes talking about morality.

Think about that for a second...
