Honestly, how does Cruz expect to win? He is no longer viewed as an alternative to Trump by the establishment. He can't peel his voters. He doesn't have the liberty base. Hell, he didn't place second in SC. What option does he have other than Trump's VP spot?

Will it work? No clue. I don't think he planned on fighting Trump + Rubio + Kasich on Super Tuesday. But he's not as far off his rails as the media seems to think. And, if there is no actual winner, that obscure rule could make him the only possible alternative to Trump.
