I think the standards in FL are insanely easy though, just a $500 fee or something. too bad.

Not really easy.  You need signatures from 1% of the registered voters and must pay 10 cents per name to have them validated. It's about 94,000 signatures. See the sections about Minor-Party and No-Party candidates and then see the Peitition signature requirment section: http://election.dos.state.fl.us/publications/pdf/2004FedQualHand.pdf
