Amazing how it only takes one little thing to play on the collective fears of the West. There's probably no reason to be freaking, but I'm actually kind of nervous sitting here and watching.

What? There were two separate explosions at two separate locations apparently. Given that there are multiple injuries and the pictures are pretty gruesome, plenty of reason to be "freaking."

Check the pictures; it looks like a warzone.

This being said, I sincerely hope it's some freak accident but it doesn't seem that way.

"Two huge bangs," CNN

Also mentioned exploding trashcans.

Oh good is Internet Detective J.J. returning? I'm sure he'll be just as accurate as last time...

Well, I don't to pass it on if you'd like.  Just reporting from CNN.

The news media tends to shoot first, ask questions later. Let's not follow their lead.

If this is indeed an attack, I'd have to think that it's domestic.

To be fair, there are runners from a multiplicity of countries. Of course this means nothing.

Yea I'm not sure what that has to do with any thing.

Tax day in Boston. Large gathering. Definitely not a random attack.

Tax Day? How about the Boston Marathon?

It seems this section was for the victims/parents from Newtown, Connecticut.

Could this have been done by conspiracy theorists, those ones who thought Newtown was a conspiracy to take away their guns.

Oh come on, let's take it easy here...

Why would anyone target the Kennedy Library?

My only guess would involve irresponsible speculation at this point.

Chris Matthews states that the attacks could have been motivated by "anti tax, anti big government" feelings. Also mentioned "Taxachusetts."

Is that really out of the realm of possibility?

Pretty sure that graphic pictures (ah, language) are deemed 'not o.k' for the same reason that swearing is.
Nobody gives a sh**t what you deem to be ok and not ok.  Go ahead, start infracting people for posting links to images of this tragedy.  It'll make you really super popular.  You're pathetic.  Infract me up to 11.  I'd welcome the points over this issue.
Al really has no business being a moderator. These images are part of the history that the United States lived through today.

Would you have supported posting the photos of Newtown corpses as they are part of American history?

Was the Newtown attack aired live on TV, with hundreds of people watching it in person at a public event?

Graphic images are being shown on television?

I'm not complaining about so called "graphic images" but your argument is a bit ridiculous.

So have you missed the repeated airing of the bomb ripping through the crowd that CNN has played over and over again? Of the bloodied people running from the smoke? Should CNN have cut away when the World Trade Center collapsed on live TV, when every person watching knew thousands of people were still inside?

I am not advocating people posting these images persay, I am just disputing why they should not be allowed.

Graphic being missing limbs, dead bodies, etc. No one considers clouds of smoke or burning buildings "graphic."

The whole "warzone" thing is probably the difference.

I'm really surprised, relieved, and thankful that there have only been three deaths. This could have been a lot worse and I thought it would be from initial reports/photos.

Apparently that's because the bombs were placed on the ground, causing mostly leg injuries (and amputations) as opposed to afflicting more fatal areas of the body.

Indeed. It also helps (relatively) that it was later in the marathon. I believe first place had finished two hours earlier, which is when I assume it would have been even more busy.

Obama officially calls it an act of terrorism. And of course CNN is now spending time dissecting his use of the word "malevolent".

ugh

Just saw this picture on Twitter. Not graphic. Check the people on the left side.

Looks too clear to be fake.

I'm seeing reports that it's photoshopped now. I'm not sure.
