I would want to manage a campaign I could help. I'll say I would want to manage Barry Goldwater's 1964 campaign. Help him win a few more states. This country would have been better off with him instead of LBJ.

Have you been hanging out with Trent Lott lately? Saying we'd be better off if racists ruled?

I might do Mondale in 1984 for the sole purpose of convincing him not to pick Ferraro.

Some of us might not agree with the way Goldwater voted on the Civil Rights Act (I'm guessing that's what you're referring to) but that doesn't make him a racist. I think you and others have to watch how you label people. Calling someone a racist is a very strong accusation, so be ready to back it up.  And Akno one of your fellow liberals (BRTD) has said we would be better off with Goldwater rather than LBJ. I think that many Americans that voted for LBJ back in '64, after seeing how his term ended, would like to take back that vote.

BRTD is welcome to his opinion, although I disagree with it. Why did he vote against the Civil Rights Act then? Also, I may be wrong, but didn't Goldwater favor the use of Nuclear weapons in our conflicts? Would that have helped? LBJ's handling of Vietnam was unsatisfactory, and so was lying about aspects of it. His social programs, however, were extremly beneficial in moving this country forward.

Barry Goldwater (who may be racist who knows) vs a presidential assasin....hmmm tough choice. I choose AuH2O!

So you believe the conspiracy theories?

You can have your LBJ conspiracy theory, sure, just let me have the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy.

Check out the program, "The Men who Killed Kennedy". It aired on the History Channel many times. I believe however the Johnson family pressured the HC to ban it forever. Whats to hide?

I've seen that program, although not recently. I don't beleive the LBJ Family has the right or authority to ban it because it made LBJ look bad.

I agree. But they certainly made a big stink about it and I believe the HC bowed to the pressure and said they'd never show the series again. Sad really.

Kinda like the Reagan mini-series. Show portrays him in less than positive way, family and friends object, show isn't put on the air.
