Here is the Atlas Congressional Rotisserie League.
Each team gets to pick 2 Senators and 8 Representives. The goal is to have the most extremist team possible. When the ratings for this congress come out from the partisan groups, like the ACLU or ACU, the scoring will be as follows. For every percent away from either 100 or 0 (whichever that person is closest to), they get points. So, if Rick Santorum gets a 93, his team would get 7 points. The object is to have the least amount of points. Hopefully we will use many different groups ratings. Once we have teams, we can draft Senators and Representitives.

I form the Blue State Blues.

I thought you were going to say Santorum.
Anyway, the teams so far:

Blue State Blues (Akno21)
Populist ACRC (Al)
PA Far Righties (Jake)

Once 72 hours pass without any new registrations, we will have the draft.

Current list of teams:

Blue State Blues (Akno21)
ACRC Populist (Al)
PA Far Righties (Jake)
DC Dove-Chicken Hawks (Joe Republic)
People's Republic of Cambridge (Blerpiez)
NC Liberals (nclib)
Pittsburgh Progressives (True Democrat)

Does everyone agree that for the draft we start with the first owners, go down the list, and then go back up for the second round, and on and on. At this point, I would have the 1st overall selection and the 14th, then so on.

with insider knowledge, it'll be hard to beat you!

I can imagine, "Um, Mr. Senator, can you vote Aye on Bill 867? I need you to pick up some Conservative points for my congressional fantasy team, Thanks."

Sounds good.  I take it we can't pick people other people have already chosen?  Or is that a dumb question?

No congressman can be on more than 1 team.

That's fine

Guess you aren't getting Coburn then, if I pick first. (Though I could change that, I'll do some research)

Drafting Rules:

Each team has 24 hours to pick their Congressman. It can be either a Senator or a Representative. There are 10 rounds, in which 2 Senators and 8 Representatives must be chosen. You may NOT edit your pick. Anyone who edits or doesn't pick in the allotted time will forfeit that selection, and be forced to acquire a congressman who hasn't been picked at the end of the drafting. Drafting will take place in the following order:

1. Blue States Blues, Akno21
2. Populist ACRC, Al
3. PA Far Righties, Jake
4. DC Dove-Chicken Hawks, Joe Republic
5. People's Republic of Cambridge, Blerpiez
6. NC Liberals, Nclib
7. Pittsburgh Progressives, True Democrat
8. The Gay Nightmare, Hughento
9. Washington Interns, MHS2002
10. Minnesota Marxists, BRTD
11. Oklahoma Dust Bowlers, TexasGurl

Then we go back up, then back down, etc.

___________________________________________

With the first pick in the draft, the Blue State Blues select the Junior Senator from South Carolina, Mr. Jim Demint. (R-SC)

Al, you are on the clock.

Quick question:  What ratings will we use in the end?  We shoudl know now, early in the draft, which organizations ratings we will use.  SHould be a balance between liberal and conservative and economic and social ratings.

The ACU and ACLU definitly.

I'm not sure totally yet, whatever anyone finds. Don't take the whole thing too seriously.
