Meanwhile the CPS has yet to decide on whether or not to bring charges against the two Tories (since thrown out of the Tory group) who tried to rig Bradford West in the General Election. They are Jamshed Khan (City) and Reis Khan (Manningham) and IMO they are as guilty as hell.

Yes. I agree. I'll refrain from commenting on their..ethnic/religious background likewise with the 6 Labour councillors in Birmingham from 2004 or the fact that 4000 votes in Slough will probably be determined by a few clan leaders reported in the Times yesterday. Luckily things are changing, but every party is guilty as sin when it comes to trying to rig elections and postal votes.

Some good news for the LibDems; they've gained South Lakeland (basically Westmorland).

What were they on in the 1970's when they named these councils....

Except that in St. Albans LibDems won the seat from the Con

I know. It's actually noy unusual in council elections, but rarely does it determine council control.

Probably a little homophobic too as Tory candidate Andrew Boff was openly gay. Wink

A Tory counciller in Lincolnshire has defected to the BNP

Excellent news Smiley Robert West is a member and spokesperson of the 'Christian Council of Britain' nothing more than a front for the BNP anyway. He was under investigation by the party, kicked off the Racial Equality Council.

He now wants to 'set up his own church, based in a house in Holbeach, to preach "traditional bible beliefs.' The fact that a bigoted fundamentalist is leaving the Tory party is good news all round.

And the beat goes on, and the train won't stop.

It's a very slow train.

Welcome yorkshiredave Smiley

Excellent post. Dewsbury, I agree in particular looks more promising on the ground than on paper.
