So, lets just assume that somehow one of the third party candidates wins the election, and that they win enough of a mandate to get at least some of their favored legislation passed. I know many of them don't even have enough ballot access to win, but lets just ignore that. Whose program would most damage the US?

Oh, and serious candidates only; Vermin Supreme and those like him don't count.

Fixed that for you. I hadn't heard of his policy until this thread and if I had the answer would have been so obvious I wouldn't have even bothered with this thread. Protectionism can only lead to disaster for any country. If industries in the United States can't perform with industries in foreign countries the problem doesn't lie with government policy, it lies with Americans not being comparatively as good at producing at foreigners. I just can not believe that some conservatives would actually support a policy so stupid, poorly thought out, and dangerous to all people in the United States.
