Neither. Christianity is peaceful for the most part at this moment in time, but go back a few centuries and it would certainly share a few of the issues Islam has today. Unfortunately, due to some holy wars that these two religions waged against eachother back in the day Islam insulated itself from the world causing stagnation and an end to the advances they had made with the end result of the Middle East being in the state it's in today. Fortunately for the Christians though, those same holy wars resulted in their insulated societies being exposed to new horizons resulting in advance for them.

Looking in from the outside christianity and islam don't seem very different at all.

It's not that I can't, but why bother? Your arguments can hardly be called that, plus you're entirely unwilling to listen to any form of logic or reason from people who are far more intelligent, educated, and experienced than yourself. So, once again, why bother?
