Yes, I want a first lady who lectures me on obesity.

Score, every other American woman except Roseanne +10k, Michelle - 10k.

Laura Bush is a librarian.

Are you saying that Michelle Obama is a fitness instructor.

Like I said, Michelle Obama lecturing on obesity is like Roseanne doing the same.

Clearly Obesity, according to Michelle Obama. Good thing she's got her priorities straight.

A former librarian would support literacy because its something she is actually qualified to comment about. She has experience, she knows her way around a library.

I see nothing to suggest that Michelle Obama has any such experience or qualifications that would lead me to believe she has any helpful advice to offer around obesity.

Good thing Michelle is totally in support of saying one thing and doing another. Hey, it's fine. You want people to take your advice seriously, you might want to put some thought into putting it into application.

I hope she keeps preaching nutrition to America. That seems a real winner to me.

Hopefully Obama can put her front and centre so she can make the choices for America's dinner table.

Independent women love being told by another mother that they aren't feeding their kids right.

Yes, Americans are really fond of people getting up on the bully pulpit and telling them what they can or cannot eat or drink.

They are even more fond of people who do the above and then go and order unhealthy fast food.

They are even more fond of mothers telling them that what they are feeding their children is wrong.

And finally, they are impressed by Michelle Obama's qualifications as a nutritionist who has spent her life studying the topic.

If it were a priest saying the same things, I strongly suspect you'd be calling him out for hypocrisy.

How does one determine what is and isn't healthy food?

Is she a doctor and can assess people to confirm that this is the case? Really? No. Well then perhaps she should earn those qualifications first.

Her words have no more force than any other private citizen. She seems to assume otherwise.

If we put Michelle Obama's words in somebody else's mouth - particularly that of a priest - you'd be the first one to say it was hypocritical. You wouldn't put up with someone else telling you what you should be doing.

Statists don't take well when being told that what they are doing is wrong, unless they get to be the ones doing the telling.

You can do a lot of harm to people if you screw up their nutrition by speaking as someone completely unqualified.

Ok, now what would you think about a Politician who said that and then promptly walked into a McDonalds outlet and ordered a huge meal, as Michelle did here?
