That's fine, but the fact that McCaskill is behind Rob Portman on this issue is a little bit disheartening i'm sure for Democrats, but I think this is a part of a tidal wave that is coming.
And it's not just that. Not only is she behind Portman on the issue, she's also flagrantly doing it for political benefit, rather than for some deep, personal realignment.
I prefer to believe in the
slightly less cynical explanation that she's privately held the view for some time and is just now taking the stance publicly now that it's politically feasible to do.
