Please, for all that is good in this world, let's not remember Vepres as some sort of great hero. Tongue
Regardless of his behavior on the forum at-large, in Atlasia, Vepres made several major contributions, such as leading an effort to briefly resurrect the Midwest as well as creating one of the most successful papers in Atlasian history.

What did Vepres do? I always get him confused with SvenssonRS, who I know got banned after demanding it, but what was wrong with Vepres?

According to the Wiki, it appears that he was a libertarian, the founder of The Atlasian Sentinel and a former RPP Governor of the Midwest. While I don't have real-life historical context to offer, he sounds like a perfectly great person.

How do you count the quota again?  If there are 4 slots, you divide the total votes cast not exhausted less one by 5 no?

Quota is [Number of votes/(Number of seats+1)]+1

There are five seats, so you divide by six and add 1?

I thought it was [Number of votes/(Number of seats+1)]? So as of right now (including invalidated votes because I'm lazy), [90/(5+1)] = 15.

That doesn't logically follow. You're claiming that the right had a massive registration advantage and now are claiming they're carpetbagging, and your evidence is that they still have a registration advantage?

That's right. You guys had a massive advantage, we eliminated most of it, and thus the right proceeded to crapetbag to pad their numbers once again.

Anyway if the Federalists moved people around like opebo, Tweed, Sea town and Snow guy were I would like to know. I may not have been paying attention when it happened.

Based on the polarity of the region, it has never been a tactic of the right to simply consider just those on the left who move here to be "strategic recruits"; they label anybody and everybody that way.

By that same logic (going back through registration and census counts), you can see several members of the right joining the region between Nov-Dec, and an increase in Fed membership by 5 in between mid-Jan and mid-Feb. Effectively, the rightists increased their caucus in the region from ~10 to 20 in a three-month period. In comparison, Labor has grown by about that rate over a period of 6 months in the region.

I also received word from a out-of-region Fed back late last year that there was an organized effort to boost relocation and new recruitment to the region, but that's obviously not admissible here. Tongue

I would be very curious to know who it was. But honesty, I don't want to have this conversation. It's in the Liberal Party's interest to play up the conflict between our two parties, and I'm not going to bite. I'd like to maintain good relations with every party.

Agreed. Smiley

Looks like I'll be conceding soon.

Won three Senate races, lost two. Score soon will be even, lol.

Huh The results look like you're beating X and I.

If you're talking about the results on the previous page, they're a bit dated at this point.

The only scandal here is the improper use of of it in the headline. Tongue

Seriously, many of us feel as if this past election was indeed a referendum and a mandate for Labor to continue leading this country. That may sound ridiculous to some, but it was our election to lose. We didn't. It doesn't matter if the margin was one vote or twenty votes - and I must say, a close election is much more satisfying, anyway - because Labor is still in the White House. Despite the hoopla and propaganda about it being a cakewalk, we never internally thought it would be a blowout like in February - a quick analysis of both registration and resentment numbers beginning in mid-May clearly showed a different result.

I believe the President made a strong, courageous decision when he decided not to water down his beliefs in order to placate and pander to elements that would never support him. He ran as a man of the Left, and won on that message. There is nothing wrong with compromise when it is necessary, but compromise for compromise's sake is a weakness among otherwise strong leaders (see: *b*m*). As someone who sympathizes with those who do what they want and tell the nay-sayers to pipe down whenever their parade is being rained upon, I can vouch that this is often a winning strategy if you're not a conservative.

There's really only one way to go from here. Regardless, I know he'll make the best decision for the country and stand behind him 100%. What would I like to see out of the two options given? Thankfully, it's no longer my decision. Tongue
