De-registered

stop pestering me.

This sort of stuff is why we need a do-not PM list with a strong enforcement mechanism.

Don't worry, guys - and no, we do not need a Do Not PM list - because we have a Do Not Deregister Impulsively List. No one is capable of de-registering less than 24 hours before, during or less than 24 hours after an election. In fact, I believe there are people on this very same page of replies that have been saved by it before. Cheesy

While somehow the main Census Bureau sheets ended up not containing the right restriction data, the "Cannot Move Until" sheet in the Census spreadsheet had/has the correct information. Due to this move:

You are not able to leave the South until October 18. Truth be told, I was baffled at how you were running for NE Governor since I noticed it yesterday, but just got around to announcing this. When I checked the main three sheets, I noticed they did not reflect the correct information. I have updated this and apologize for the inconvenience.

I advise all citizens to always check the "Cannot Move Until" sheet of the Census Bureau - in addition to the rest - to verify any restrictions on their ability to move to a different region.

Remember when I said that Simfan's refusal to accept GM storyline as fact would be the lynchpin in nullifying GM authority? I think that such a decision here could prove to be the same for the RG. If we begin allowing people to return based on deemed necessity or public support, then there are many other registration-based claims that can be up for debate. I would like for Blair to come back, too.

The two-month registration period exists, FYI and AFAIK, so that people cannot simply vote in one region, de-register, and then reappear in another in time to vote in that region's elections 2 months later. It basically ensures (in most cases) that you miss the next election as a result of your de-registration. However, I don't think this would apply here specifically, because I have continued what Fritz did with respect to recording how much time someone had before they could move again when they de-register. Upon returning, they can only return to that region and they are confined to said region for the amount of time they were not able to move before they de-reg'd (if applicable). Blair, as best as I can recall w/o looking at the sheets, had no restriction.

Perhaps I can be persuaded, but I can't just yet give in on this without some more thought and consultation.

Go ahead and ask bore to issue an executive order on the matter, and I'll be happy to re-register you.

it's not as if we have an attorney general who can prosecute you, after all

My concern has never been with being prosecuted - I'd give 'em a proper spanking if they tried to do that! My concern the entire time has been with maintaining the legitimacy of the office and not having it turned into another GM situation where some regions might try to ignore/add select voters in disagreement with the office, among other things.

I never bother to actually calculate the precise day for return - instead counting up from the day of de-registration by two months - because that's just more work for me otherwise and at most it's going to be off by two days.

In addition and as we've seen here, I've always counted on anyone who is that obsessed with clawing at the doors of the game on literally the first day they're allowed to return by law (which seems to be a majority of the game's players who de-register at a given point, mind you - maybe just don't de-register if you're not actually over the game) to make the clarification for me anyway. A win-win!

It's quite clear that you are projecting. I have no obsessive desire to return to this game; I simply read about the Northeast National movement about a week ago and then intended to return as a humble supporter of the cause, not as an egotistic politician. I had actually forgotten about it until today, when I was reminded about ongoings in this game and checked to see if I could return.

I'm not the one who made a spectacular, emotional deregistration from the game, tried to control a huge political party during that time, made effortposts while supposedly retired, and plotted to return from the moment I quit! Quite obviously you need to purchase a mirror.

It's OK: you're not the only one who does it!

Evidently your intellect has receded since the last time I played this game. You probably still haven't realized you're headed for a good thumping in the election!

can we all agree that talleyrand is eligible, that griffin wasn't maliciously keeping him from registering, and that the subject should be dropped? Smiley

Yes, any further cluttering of the New Register Thread risks generating a destabilizing effect; random registrations might start to disappear under such loads!

Also, it is worth noting that I have adjusted all of the outstanding movement cooldown return dates in the Census Bureau so that we can hopefully avoid a page of wasted space in the future. In addition, I've added a separate section on the 'Banned Users' page that shows existing movement restrictions on players who are eligible to return but have not yet done so.

I moved to South Carolina. Hope, that is not a problem?

There is no limit on moves within a region, as far as I can recall.

Once every 24 hours; no problem here.

Why are people suddenly asking en masse to be removed from the game? Is somebody harassing them via PM?
