Hello there, guys!  I had quite a fun time being this party's first nominee for President way back in February, and it looks like y'all have come a huge way since then!

As a returning member, I offer my services in any way that may be helpful. Smiley

You could come back to Georgia. Tongue We've built quite the coalition since then.

Thanks!

I will actually drop out and support Griffin.

What a gracious gesture; thanks for the support! I can assure you that if elected, I will always do my best to ensure the sustainability and expansion of the Labor Party and its values.

I think we should move towards a leadership vote post haste, seeing as the election is moving closer and there have been large political shifts just tonight. Grin

It will be up to Nathan to call the vote; he may still wish to allow a 24 hour period before opening a vote.

In sentiment, however, I agree with you.

Oh, that's really what I intended anyhow.  I just don't want this to drift down the page unnoticed. Grin

Most definitely. Smiley Laborites must remain vigilant and informed during this time of change.

Three points:

1) Whoever is elected Vice-Chair will given the task of creating our Platform, so that could be a good campaign issue
2) We need someone to run for Secretary General
3) Chair and Vice-Chair candidates should think about who they'd appoint to their by-laws and platform committee's

I believe we currently have candidates for all three offices, although seatown initially announced as Secretary/Whip as opposed to Secretary General (which I believe is just semantics).

It is obviously up to Nathan, but I and some others believe that we must settle any leadership changes first and foremost. With virtually every other post-Dissolution major party crumbling around us, it is in the best interests of Labor to ensure that we have steady leadership going forward in the coming days and weeks.

If elected as Chair, my first order of business will be to put forward a vote on the approval of these proposed by-laws - most likely in the form of a line-item or sectional vote. Subsequently, the drafting of a party platform and any endorsements for October's races will follow suit.

May I speak a few words in my request for an endorsement? Smiley

I don't see why not.

I too would like to request the Labor Party's endorsement. When is the deadline?

I would assume you still have some days before an actual vote will be taken. You should have plenty of time to make your case. Smiley

Congratulations, Chairman Griffin.

As you've requested, I'm locking this thread so that you can start one of your own, now that you're Chair.

Thanks, Mr. Chair!
