Didn't he make some nutty remarks about using "liberals" as human shields in Iraq?

Yeah something like that.  But if Gibbons runs it looks probable his district will stay GOP (it voted for Bush by 16%), but there is slight pickup potential there.

Isn't Gibbons' district in southern Nevada??? I thought that Kerry won the whole southern part of the state?

I double-checked.  It's northern, rural Nevada.  However, Gibbons ran 40 points ahead of Bush in 2004.
