Yes-for now.  I would still listen with open ears during his hearings and examine his record very closely.

Scalia, probably the most conservative, and Ginsburg, probably the most liberal, were both confirmed with 90+ votes. I know Ginsburg was with a Democratic Senate and I think Scalia was as well.

Scalia was helped by the fact that he was better than guy who was put up to a vote before him (Bork).

Incorrect. Scalia predated Bork.

Kennedy was the one that went into the final spot instead of Bork.

Ah ok.  I wasn't born quite yet.

Not surpringly Bob Casey has remained silent on the issue.

I sent the Casey campaign an e-mail.  Let's see if I receive a response.

Casey would do well not to get involved in this unless something happens that destroys Roberts and hurts Santorum. Casey can either oppose a pro-life nominee and have his anti-abortion credentials tarnished or he can oppose his party's leadership and major fundraisers. I'd stay quiet for the next two months.

I agree, though it would be nice if Casey's staff would send a response just saying "Thank you for your question at this point in time Bob is examining Mr. Roberts' record and when he finishes his examination will release a statement on his confirmation"
