This looks like an interesting game. But I like TN's position the most right now. There is no immediate threat to him and his region will be easily assumed.

Eh... Point of order as it were... I'm unsure of the rules of the house here... Could I say.... Attack maine, move half or whatever of Mass's troops, then attack elsewhere from Mass wth the soldiers that remain there, I ask this in the open because everyone knows what I'm gunna do, I'm just unsure what kind of rules were having.

Yeah, if I understand your question correctly. You can attack with one part of your force in one direction and then use the other part freely afterwards.

I'd like all of them in Hawaii. Then, in a surprise move, attack California, do or die. Place minimum number in California. Then go, as long as I have at least 3 attacking armies, Hawaii-Alaska-Washington-Oregon. In the final part of that attack I'd like to leave in Washington a 3rd of the (Washington force+what I have in Calfornia) and tactical move from Oregon to California so as to leave an equal number in all 3 states. If exact equality is impossible I'd like the smallest number in Washington and the largest in California. If this is unclear, just ask. Smiley

Fantastic play Gustaf, the same kind of micro management I try to use.

Assuming that you're not being ironic, thank you. Smiley

As for Meeker's plans, he has a threat to his west and a threat to his east. Just because the eastern one hasn't materialized yet it doesn't mean it's any less dangerous.

Hmm, so you did.  I guess Meeker's army must have surrendered right after the battle.

In fact, it taken literally I did not only successfully repulse Meeker's attack on Arkansas I also mysteriously took over Tennessee, gaining an extra batallion. Smiley

Argh!  Too...many...options...too...many...risks...

Start off with three on Ohio...I'll get back to you in a couple of minutes.

I knew what I'd do. The game's called Risk, that's all I'm saying. Wink

You would've attacked TN...right?

See, I actually realized I encounter far fewer enemy troops doing it this way...and I'm not in it to win this time anyway...just to make it interesting.

Besides, the final factor to make me do this was Josh's force on Maryland...there's a good chance that if I attacked Northeast, he'd rule the Eastern half of the map in short order.

Well I wouldn't have hurt myself of all people, that's for sure. Tongue I would've taken the Northeast because Josh probably wouldn't go after you anyway. But, sure, ruin me if you like. Tongue

Well, not that it matters much at this stage...everything in Oregon, attack Washington as long as I can attack with 3.

Well. California-Nevada as long as I have 3 attacking. If successful, put everything in Nevada and then tactical move them to Oregon and end turn.

Well, this is interesting. Way to make Josh's life a lot easier, people.

I was gonna post that this was pretty much between you and TN now (with TN being the favourite, imo) but then I realized Josh could actually get the Midwest bonus unless you manage to break-through his lines. That would be strange.

Exactly. If Meeker hadn't attacked me in Texas, Josh wouldn't get the 8-person bonus this turn, but I really don't have enough forces to go toe-to-toe with Josh now unless I get really lucky.

No offense to Josh, but I beleive he did get the Midwest bonus last time he played, but it didn't matter. Obviously, the situation kind of sucks for you, but it was still probably better for Meeker, given how you will probably take the hit from Josh anyway... Wink

But it's an unusually balanced game this time around, since Josh could also be your bulwark against TN.

Well, this is too bad.

I was planning to explain by action to The Mikado why it is not a good idea to make people paranoid about you - this turn I was going to wipe him out in a move that would have been near sucidal and very unclever by me. Now I won't have too though.

I'd like to turn in the following set:

That should give me an additional 10 for a total of 16. But I must think a little before issuing my orders, given how, eh, interesting my situation is. Tongue
