I was this close to voting social conservative, then started thinking about economical liberals...(those are the 2 choices for me really). I postponed my vote, then read Opebo's post and figured, if HE votes social conservative over economic liberal, then so must I! Cheesy

Social conservatives, they are holding us back.

From what?

Having sex with minors?
Taking "Under God" out of the pledge?
From making America into New Amsterdam?
Being able to kill the useless aged and unborn?
Unregulated prostitution?
The destruction of the nuclear family?

In a recent study on charitable giving, Mississippi  ranked #1 in charitable giving.  Dang, those religious conservatives!

Heh...both of you calm down... Wink You're gonna start a war over values. Smiley

I was hesitant between social conservatism and economic liberalism. But than i picked up economic liberalism. I think it is much more harmful than social conservatism, and if not that, an absolute free market would not let any social conservatism last long. But under economic liberalism, social conservatism could prosper.
I social conservatives are somewhat dominated by sex. They claerly have issues with it, and so don't want anyone to have more fun than they do. BTW, I'm often called a prude, but that doesn't mean I want to force my views on anyone. The censorship of "undecent" TV and Radio shows makes me particulary disgusted. I don't know how can any conscient american support such a Fascist organization such as the FCC.

Good points, I thought of that too...still it sorts of deepens the discussion beyond a simple poll. The question didn't seem to entail dynamic effects. Smiley

Your score is very interesting...kind of like Bullmoose's.

Bono is waaay to the right of Bullmoose

Yeah, but the same basic profile...minus score on social scale, plus score on economy...though Bono's has a difference of about 15 points, worse than Bullmoose's difference of 8.

Bullmoose is also a social radical and economically centrist.  Bono is different.

Yes, I know they're far apart in that sense, I meant more like the relation between their economic and social views, such a large difference isn't very common.

Right then.

What do you think of the Hives?

Haha...don't listen to them much, but many of my friends do...they were reportedly opposed to the euro, so I liked them for that. Smiley

I don't follow contemporary music a lot really...

I just learned of their existance from the issue of Newsweek I picked up today.  They seem strange.

That is probably correct. Smiley
