Wink

I did NOT admit that I was wrong, I never do... Wink

I just changed it to take new voters into account. I stick by my numbers and challenge DUNNews to explain their methodology. GusNews gives you facts, not predictions.

how many independent you have now?

I put Volk1 as independent since he registered as one. While I was at the creation of an independent group I figured, what the hell, let's throw CTGuy, the 'progressive Democrat' into that one as well for the time being. I had him down as progressive before.

My figures are, after taking into account Christopher Michael's switch to the Republicans, and counting the Progressive-Democratic party as neither Democratic nor Progressive, as follows:

- Democrat**: 23
- Republican: 23
- Progressive: 7
- Pro-Dem: 1
- Independent: 1
TOTAL: 55

**Includes JFK and Esteban Manuel

That appears reasonable...even though GusNews will not reveal it's methods, we conclude that ENews appears to be trustworthy in the area of polling... Smiley

I think that, though we have two news Corporations (GusNews and DUNNews) there is no newspaper. Therefore, I think that ENews will be more of a newspaper than a polling organization. Now for a name... The Dumfriesshire Times perhaps Smiley Just joking. I think that it will be called The New England Herald-Tribune or some such thing.

The Atlasian Herald-Tribune disagrees with GusNews' polling. The Jesus Christ Party is regarded as a separate party; so should the Progressive-Democratic Party.

In general, it seems to appear that the Republicans are most unified. On the Liberal side, the Progressive Party has separated from the Democrats, and additional parties, including the Jesus Christ Party and the Progressive-Democratic Party seem to have done so as well. On the Republican side, however, the Reform Party separated and then merged back. Furthermore, the Republicans do not presently seem to suffer from the same internal strife that the Democrats do.

Dear Sir,

I read your article regarding the polling methods of GusNews with some anticipation. Not much, admittedly, considering the link between you and the founder of the second most prominent pollster of the forum, DUNNews. Whether this affected your assesment I do not know, and I do not wish to speculate in that matter. However, I must disagree with your assesment on the classification of the political parties. No party called the 'Progressive-Democratic party' has actually been founded. All we have is that a small, almost neglectable, part of the electorate calls themselves Progressive Democrats. Without an official party they do not count as a separate party. GusNews has to choose between grouping them with the Democrats or the Progressives, and, to aviod bias, after some pondering, chose the latter. I hope this is not a sign of things to come regarding the paper, considering that I personally found the sports section rather enjoyable.

Sincerely,

Gustaf Lundrgen, founder of GusNews.

Dear Sir,

The Herald-Tribune feels that classifying an individual who describes himself as a Progressive-Democrat as a Progressive is innacurate, as it gives the impression that the Progressives are greater in number as they actually are. GusNews, however, is free to choose whichever grouping it chooses.

The interesting thing is that I miswrote...a Freudian mistake, no question...I have him as a progr...did it again there... an independent in my polls...geeez... Smiley
