Lewis's bumping of the old thread inspired me to resurrect these, so is anyone interested in another tournament?

I'll give it another day or two to see if anyone else is interested, then we can decide the tournament structure.

Right, seeing as no one else seems to be interested, we may as well get started.

We have 5 or 6 players, so what structure does everyone want to follow. Round robin?

Definitely not.

Round robin it is:

homelycooking (W)- Franzl (B)

Gmantis(W) - X (B)

SPC(W )- bore (B)

As always, white sends the request to black for 2 day games.

It would be helpful for everyone to post their gameknot address in this thread and the links to the games when they've started.

http://gameknot.com/

That's the site where we host the games.

You create an account then post the name here, mine is boreatlas, and gmantis will send you a challenge. You have 2 days to make each move before the game times out.

I think everyone who's been playing these tournaments not called anvi has a few epic meltdowns Tongue

They'll probably be a break for the rest of you now due to the difference in calfornian and british time, but I'll message everyone if the break is too long.

And gmantis, it will likely be just a single round robin, and then we can have another tournament straight after.

bore 0
Mr X 0
franzl 0

I'll post the next seedings in a bit.

franzl vs bore

OK, here's the next round:

Gmantis (W) vs homely (B)
Mr X (W) vs SPC (B)

Thanks for the follow-up!

No problem, I'd be a pretty rubbish tournament director if I gave up after the first round Smiley

http://gameknot.com/analyze-board.pl?bd=21744528&fb=1&rnd=0.3425777768716216

Franzl has beaten me, congratulations to him, I enjoyed the game.

The new table is

SPC 2
Gmantis 2
homelycooking 1
franzl 1
bore 0
Mr X 0

The new games are:
bore (W) vs Mr X (B)
franzl (W) vs gmantis (B)
SPC (W) vs homely (B)

I suggest that SPC starts the game when he feels he can commit to not timing out.

The link to my game against X is here: http://gameknot.com/chess.pl?bd=21858966&rnd=71293

Gmantis and Franzl don't seem to have started, and I'm assuming spc homely is delayed until the end of the month.

When those games do start could you leave a link in this thread so people can keep track of them?
