Perhaps a solution might be keeping the requirment but waiving it for all posters with over 250/500/1000 posts.

I see no good reason, unless homely actually wants out, for a new SOFE. Considering his prior record and the fact that the error was very minor especially compared with how regional elections are regularly handled it makes sense for everyone to move on.
