You broke the unspoken convention where threads live on until the next GE!

There's a lot that's broken about UK politics right now.

May supposedly is going to ask for a short delay to Article 50, but I can't see what she thinks to gain by it except backing into a hard Brexit by "accident". It's likely that she won't be able to get a short delay without a plan and it doesn't seem like she has a plan except leave Parliament with a stark choice between her deal or a hard Brexit. I'm doubtful that'll work as she hopes.

They're carrying on discussing this over dinner. This could take a while.

Delicious!

May can't face a leadership challenge until December.

And if half the cabinet resign the Tory whip until May is gone?

Not that I'm saying that is what will happen, but if enuf Tories decide they'd rather have an election than let May continue pretending she has a chance of getting her plan passed, then she's toast even if she nominally remains in charge of the party until December.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the anti-Brexit rally by Scottish expatriates I witnessed a couple of weeks ago at the Alexanderplatz. But here's an advertisement for a "Brexit special" at a Japanese karaoke joint in Berlin:

If that's the best of British drag, I'd hate to see the worst.

So, is anyone likely to overtake Hunt to join Johnson on the postal ballot?
