Trump's made the usual deflection that it's not a gun problem but a mental health problem. If only those who mouthed such platitudes actually did something about mental health, then at least some cold comfort could be gained, but it'll just be used as an excuse to do nothing. After all, government isn't here to help people, just pass-through entities.

The good Samaritan who stopped the bad shooter was able to fire through body armor with his AR-15 rifle.

Link

Doubtful. He certainly didn't have body armor on his leg and he probably managed to hit him in the side where his armor didn't cover. It also certainly helped him that the shooter had already used up all the ammo he had for his own AR-15. Thankfully, he'd only brought 15 magazines with him.

Thankfully, there was a guy from another church that came before the police responded who was armed and likely prevented even more casualties.
Only if the shooter had decided to try again to kill his mother-in-law. The shooter was done at the church and already leaving because he had exhausted the 15 magazines he'd brought for his AR-15.

Yet per reports from that "Good Samaritan" the killer returned fire & thus was still potentially a threat to kill more.

A pistol versus an AR-15. I'm just thankful that the "Good Samaritan" didn't end up shooting at a mistaken target . Under the circumstances, it would've been quite possible for two "Good Samaritans" to end up firing at each other because each thought the other was the bad guy.

Well the people there are thankful for their neighbor's assistance. While you continue to be sanctimonious to try to disprove the benefits of personal gun ownership.

There are plenty of people from Sutherland Springs who could dispute the benefits of our gun culture if they were only still alive.
