Good way to deflect from the first job losses in 7 years.
There;s no serious economist who thinks that wasn't because of Harvey and Irma.
There were no job losses after any of the hurricanes that occurred during Obama's administration.
That's like comparing grapes to grapefruit. Obama was fortunate in that he had to deal with only one major storm making landfall in the U.S., Sandy. Trump has had three, Harvey, Irma, and Maria, and in the case of Irma and Maria, they happened in areas where sending in help afterwards was noticeably more difficult than where Sandy made landfall. Harvey is the wettest hurricane to ever have made a U.S. landfall. Also, the economy in the areas Trump's multiple storms have hit was far more dependent upon the agricultural and tourism jobs that hurricanes typically have the largest impact upon.
Even without a final accounting of the damages, Harvey, Irma, and Maria, all look to be among the five most costly hurricanes to have hit the U.S., and they may displace Katrina and Sandy from their positions as the most costly and second-most costly hurricanes. (I'm currently expecting Katrina to remain number one and Sandy to fall to number four.)
Trump has been dealt a bad hand here and he did okay with Harvey and Irma, tho not more than that, just okay. Where he dropped the ball was with Maria, which isn't going to affect U.S. job numbers, since they don't include Puerto Rico. Harvey and Irma only required Trump to go thru the motions. Maria required more than that and not only did Trump fail to do so, he wasted his time and energy on making asinine comments about Puerto Ricans and playing fetch the paper towels with them.
