This is a reposted country, with a few minor changes made.

Official Name(s)Sad Choseon Empire 조선제국 (朝鮮帝國)
Commonly known as: Choseon
Territorial description: OTL Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hainan, eastern Siberia, northeastern China, Micronesia, Hawaii, most of Alaska, western British Columbia
Government: Bureaucratic monarchy
Capital: Hanseon (OTL Seoul)
Head(s) of State: Yi Gim-jong
Head(s) of Government: Kim Ma-sil (First Minister of State), Wo Sang-ho (First Minister of Force), Kim Jong-sen (First Minister of Harmony)
Population: 430 million
Religions: Neo-Confucianism (state religion) most others tolerated if they do not have a hierarchy outside the Empire. Hence Catholics who follow the Pope and Buddhists who follow the Dalai Lama face major restrictions, including the possibility of death if they seek converts. However there are state-approved Buddhist and Christian churches that are tolerated.
Languages: Choseon language [Korean] (state language, 40% first language, 85% know it well enough to use),  Mandarin 30%, Japanese 15%, other 15%, Use of Choseongul (Hangul) script in publishing is generally mandatory for all languages, save ancient texts printed in their original script for historical or cultural purposes. Even those generally tend to be interlinear dual script, such as the authorized Choseon version of the Quran (꾸란) with the Arabic text given in both the original Arabic script and the Choseongul script. No prohibitions on the use of other languages, just other scripts.
Ethnic groups: Korean 25%, Han Chinese 40%, Japanese 20%, other 15%
Level of Tech and Development: Medium-high.  New technology of a non-military nature is often delayed in adoption until an official standard is promulgated by the Ministry of State
Level of Freedom: Economic freedom is medium-high. Political freedom is medium as anyone can hope to enter the bureaucracy if they study the Neo-Confucian texts. Religious freedom is medium-low. Censorship is present, but criticism of the government is permitted, so long as it is couched in the form of officials not living up to Neo-Confucian ideals, so allegations of bribery or other corruption are easily aired.
Trends: Population is stable and even rising slightly which is unusual among developed countries as the Ministry of Harmony provides considerable assistance to child-raisers.
Founding date: 1392 as Choseon Kingdom 조선왕조 (朝鮮王朝), proclaimed an empire in 1618 after the conquest of Japan (not including Hokkaido which came later).
History: Founded by Taejo Yi Seong-gye following the aftermath of the overthrow of the Goryeo Dynasty. Unlike in our timeline, the Japanese and Manchu invasions of the 16th century caused the country to follow an expansionist policy instead of an isolationist policy. The current borders have been essentially stable since the mid 19th-century. Has been engaged in a religious cold war Free Republic of Tuah for centuries that has occasionally turned hot over the latter's embrace of Catholicism, largely because of ethnic Chinese Catholic missionaries that sneak in from there.
Government System: Three large ministries dominate the bureaucracy ever since a reform in 1871 consolidated the existing ministries as subministries of these three. While not always the case, it is usual for one to be headed by an ethnic Korean, one by an ethnic Han, and one by an ethnic Japanese. The Ministry of State handles the bureaucratic examinations, foreign policy, taxation, religion, and communications. The Ministry of Force handles the military and general law enforcement. The Ministry of Harmony handles public works projects, education, health care, and welfare benefits.
Major subdivsions:
Yi Kingdom (Korea)
Nippon Kingdom (Japan, Sakhalin Island, Kuriles, Kamchatka Peninsula)
Jurchen Kingdom (Manchuria and the bit of Russia south of the Amur River)
Shun Kingdom (northeast China)
Ming Kingdom (Taiwan and Hainan)
Hawaii Kingdom (Hawaii)
New Choseon (southern Alaska and western British Columbia)
Northern Territory (eastern Russia and northern Alaska)
Southern Territory (Micronesia)

Yi Kingdom is ruled by the same Yi Dynasty as the Emperor, but often an adult heir is given the ceremonial and religious duties thereof to lighten the load for the Emperor, however Yi Gim-jong is only 49 and his heir Yi Jong-san is but 21.  The other five Kings have only ceremonial and religious duties and no real power, unlike the Emperor.  There has been talk of elevating New Choseon to the status of a kingdom, but the lack of a suitable dynasty has kept that from happening. The Northern and Southern Territories are too sparsely populated to be considered for elevation into kingdoms.

A second attempt might work.  I didn't want to step on the toes of those who needed to repost but didn't.
