Jenny Sanford Is on Nikki Haley's Senate Shortlist — and Stephen Colbert Isn't

If she goes with Sanford it might be just as a fill in role......I don't recall any political ambitions for Mrs. Sanford, herself. 

Really? She is quite ambitious, I remember rumors that she was seriously considering running for her ex-husband's job before endorsing Nikki Haley instead.

I don't recall that but I'll take your word for it.  If she appoints Sanford, it will reek of paying back a debt to the Sanfords.

My mother thought one reason Mark was so sloppy about covering up his hiking trip was it was the one way he could keep Jenny from pushing him to run for President.  Jenny's always been ambitious, but she wanted to be wielding power behind the scenes.   Since that's no longer an option...
