Lindsey!  You know you're still gonna lose your primary, right?  Chill man, take it easy

Four years is a long time, though I grant that had he been up this year, he would have likely been primaried, which might have given us Senator-elect Greene. Wink  Still, I don't see this as being quite as war-mongering as Libertas does.  He's saying that he thinks things have gone past the point where a surgical strike can stop Iran in its pursuit of the bomb.  If so, then considering other options and whether they are worth the cost is prudent.  Unless we have evidence that Iran is preparing to use the bomb for more than deterrence, then it isn't worth the cost.

I didn't get the impression he felt that way by his words.

I do think he is less sanguine about the sanity of the Iranian leadership than I am, but it's not as if Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will ever have a say about whether an Iranian bomb gets used.  If that were the case, I'd agree that there was a serious problem that might merit an attack as soon as we were prepared for the attack and its consequences.  Neither Ali Khamenei nor any of the people likely to succeed him are crazy enough to use a nuke.  It would certainly ease things if Khamenei were to die or resign in the next few years as the current Assembly of Experts would probably select someone more moderate.
