Why isn't the Club for Growth more careful in picking its shots?  I mean, why try to get someone nominated who is much more likely to lose the General against someone they no doubt loathe, like Reid?  And why didn't they recruit someone more presentable to run in the first instance, if this was the direction in which they wanted to go?  Are they just numbnuts?

Their supporters, yes.  But the leaders might be crazy like a fox.  If they can support candidates that win the GOP nomination but lose to the Democrats, they they can still rail about all the things the evil Democrats do to raise money.
