Republicans - where in the bible does it say Jesus is pro-death penalty

I'm not really interested in the debate, but I'm fairly certain the Bible says "eye for an eye" somewhere in it.

Jesus taught love and forgiveness, not hate and revenge for sins against God. If you look at the OT (Old Testament), a lot of what they were teaching was vengence for sins against God. Jesus was sent to, not only take the sins of man away, but to instill the values of love and forgiveness.

Yes, and we can see how well love and forgiveness worked against the Nazis at Auschwitz, the Japanese in Nanking and the Chinese in Tibet.  Love and forgiveness are fine, but they're no substitute for a serious ass-kicking.
