Why exactly did you want this guy?

He wasn't Estabrook.

Estabrook is even worse than this guy??  I don't know much about him, but what makes Estabrook worse?

Just a poor candidate and seemed RINOesque.

How exactly is running someone who is Rhinoesque worse than running Pennachio in New Jersey??

Ok, first off it's "RINO." Secondly, who cares? Pennacchio won't win. Estabrook wouldn't have won. Why should I have supported a RINO, which goes against what I believe in, in a race we'll lose anyway especially when it's not even my own U.S. Senate race?

Finally, you're missing the point that she was just a bad candidate anyway. She didn't know how to handle herself when it came to debating the issues.

Someone with the views Pennachio has IS a bad candidate especially in a state like New Jersey.  Granted even despite Lautenberg not being popular and being real old the GOP still would not have a chance of winningthe  state, the state party is a wreck.  However running lunatic fringe candidates will just make things worse for a party already in shambles.

So it was a joke of a candidate vs. a lunatic. It was a loss either way and it wasn't going to be a big race anyway. But please note that I did not know about Pennacchio's insanely odd views before I saw this thread.

Apparently, the NJ GOP is looking to State Senator Diane Allen (who turned down a bid for Saxton's House seat) or Atlantic county executive Dennis Levinson.

I will admit to knowing next to nothing about Dennis Levinson, but I'll go out on a limb and say he's 1000 times more preferable than Pennachio.

(I'd guess he's fairly pro-labor, considering he represents Atlantic City.  And being from that part of the state, I'd guess he'd be able to get some casino money, which would help on the financing front.)

He's also known for his "green friendly" environmental record. From what I know about him, I think he'd do well. I'd prefer Levinson over the total RINO Allen. Wink  I remember wanting Allen in 2002 only because I thought she was the one with the shot at beating The Torch. I wouldn't care much if she got the nomination this time around but I'd prefer someone else.
