Fellow Atlasians,

The Republican Party of Atlasia has now changed its name the the Atlasian Conservative Alliance (ACA). The Board of Directors' vote was 3 in favor of the name change and 2 opposed.

The ACA will operate just as the RPA in terms of leadership positions. However, if members of the old RPA want to join the ACA, new registration is necessary.

The main priorities of the ACA will be: 1) a new platform in which a special committee will be appointed and voted on by the Board to write it up, 2) a filling of any vacant leadership positions and 3) a registration drive to convert old Republicans into members of the Conservative Alliance.

I, as chairman of the ACA, would like to thank all who have worked on this issue. We may have had our disagreements but now is the time to unite and work together for our cause. Thanks you.

Phil, what's your view on the members who don't eventually join the ACA?  If it's assumed that they don't join simply because they're inactive, will you rule that they become independent?  The only reason I bring it up is so that we don't end up with a posse of inactive 'R's on the voter rolls.

I would recommend that if any Republican remains on the voter rolls after the next election that the SoFA changes their registration to Independent. I don't know if this can legally be done but there techincally is no Republican Party anymore.

As for "destroying" us, that hasn't happened. We are still likely to be made up of the same people. The only changes will be the name and probably slight adjustments to our party platform.
