Kerry has a million to one chance in Alabama. The margin doesn't matter because the democrat vote is saturated (African Americans). It won't go any higher.

I'd say that Alabama and Mississippi are the 2 Southern states least likely to go for a Democrat. Connecticut seems more likely to go for a Republican.

I'd say CT and NJ are a bit like GA, whereas AL and MS are more like RI maybe.

Yeh, I'd say GE is different, it has a huge urban element, Atlanta which is strongly Democrat, not to mention liberal elements such as Athens. GE is a long shot for the Democrats in any election, MS and AL are no-hopers.
