I know I'm not Gass3268, and I don't pretend I'm speaking for him here, but I strongly object to limiting abortions at any stage of pregnancy. I do support the intent of this amendment, but I think it should go further -- with a name like "Women's Rights Amendment" we should really do something with it that not only guarantees the right to an abortion, but also guarantees equality before the law for women.

The killing of any unborn child that could survive outside of the womb is simply inhumane and I would go as far as to say murder. For that reason, I oppose Tyrion's amendment as it does not adequately address that issue.

A fetus =/= a child

Didn't Nappy and the boys already take care of that a year ago?

You'll have to forgive me, Senator, I must have missed that one while perusing the Constitution.

NAY

Women should have the right to choose until birth.

Women should have the right to choose until birth.

That's simply not the case.  After a certain point we cannot argue that we are not dealing with a living thing that has rights of its own.

Yeah, that point is obviously birth.

No, it certainly is not.  By the time of viability we are absolutely dealing with a living thing.  Viability should be the latest possible point in which an abortion is legal, barring extraordinary circumstances.

No, we really aren't.

Is there anything else worth discussing here?
