I hate to open up another can of worms here, but why not just eliminate military aid altogether, for all countries? Why should we be funding other nations' military budgets?

We must not aid Israel militarily in any fashion so long as that aid is being used to mow down Palestinian children and push the Palestinian people off of their land.

I object as well, I cannot accept anything less then full military restrictions.

This is my position. I will personally see to it that no FPR escapes the Senate without full military restrictions on Israel.

Private negotiations first is the way to go. Israel is our greatest ally in the region and the current version will severely jeopardize that and only further alienate them. There are better ways to communicate our concerns to the Israeli government, but unfortunately the majority in this chamber have absolutely no interest in reaching a bi-partisan solution.

I will be a solid Nay against the current version. It amazes me how far to the left this Senate is turning - it is my hope that the October elections changes that.

Why do you want Atlasia to directly support, with arms, the occupation of Palestine?
Why do you want to say untrue things about me?

I have stated before that the Atlasian government needs to push Israel, but it needs to be in a reasonable and responsible manor. Placing full restrictions on them will only further alienate them, which I don't see solving the problem one bit.

Hopefully the SoEA will chime in on this soon.

Supporting Israel in any way, shape, or form = supporting apartheid

Not wanting Atlasian arms and money to flow to a state engaging in ethnic cleansing and apartheid-like tactics is exclusively a position of the left these days?

BTW, I will not be voting for this FPR if the amendment passes. It is way too lenient. I don't have problem with dialogue (and it's not as if the original version discourages that), BUT THERE NEEDS TO BE FULL MILITARY RESTRICTIONS UNTIL ISRAEL STOPS BUILDING SETTLEMENTS.

I agree and will stand with Senator Sbane against anything less than full military restrictions on Israel.

Aye.

I would prefer total sanctions and an end to recognition of Israel so long as it's going to engage in ethnic cleansing/empire building, but that's not going to pass this Senate, so it looks like this is the absolute best we'll get, which is unfortunate. Here's hoping the next time we address this the Senate isn't full of Likudniks.
